Description

After Dinner Detox Fights Free Radicals

After Dinner DETOX™ provides support for diffusing free radicals caused by normal digestion which damage our cells causing premature aging.

Our bodies show signs of aging because of the constant barage of free radicals coming at us from all angles; when we breath, eat and even rest because every cell in our bodies creates highly damaging waste during the citric acid cycle which needs to be safely converted using antioxidants, but where are they to come from?

After Dinner DETOX™ is a herbal nutraceutical formula containing a carefully designed mixture of vitamins, nutrients & antioxidants to support and increase the levels of SOD, Catalase & Glutathione which then neutralise the highly unstable free radicals which are created during the process of digestion and even from simply living.

All food must be eaten if its constituents are to be used in metabolism of the human body. The digestion processes of major macronutrients involve a series of hydrolysis reactions taking place in the mouth, stomach and intestines forming Reactive Oxidative Species (ROS) these are SUPERoxides and hydroxyl radicals or as more commonly known: free radicals.

How Do Oxygen Free Radicals Injure our Cells?

We get a certain amount of protection from the foods we eat such as leafy vegetables and legumes, but many of us are inconsistent with our food choices and so we designed this capsule to enable convenient inclusion of some of the most potent antioxidants known to mankind enabling their inclusion throughout the day even when out and about.

After Dinner DETOX™ contains the following ingredients and their functions:

  • SOD Activators: Blueberry, Gynostemma, Kelp, Milk Thistle
  • Catalase activators: Goji Berry,  Resveratrol, He Shou Wu, Milk Thistle
  • Glutathione (GPx) Support: Green Coffee, ALA, Curcumin, Blueberry, Milk Thistle

All food must be eaten if its constituents are to be used in metabolism of the human body. The digestion processes of major macronutrients involve a series of hydrolysis reactions taking place in the mouth, stomach and intestines forming free radicals (ROS).

Breathing Gives Us Both Life and Slowly Damages Our Cells

Oxygen that we breathe in is a source of life, but at the same time it can cause damage in the body by creating oxygen free radicals, molecules that become unstable by losing or gaining an electron and have to balance themselves by stealing electrons from other molecules, creating a chain reaction.

Although oxidative phosphorylation is a vital part of metabolism, it produces reactive oxygen species (ROS) such as superoxide and hydrogen peroxide, which lead to propagation of free radicals, damaging cells and contributing to disease and, possibly, aging (senescence). The enzymes carrying out this metabolic pathway are also the target of many drugs and poisons that inhibit their activities.

ROS/Free radicals have recently been implicated in a number of biochemical and chemical reactions in the body. Lipid peroxidation induced by free radical reaction is believed to be one of the major causes of cell damage and injuries in cell membranes. In recent years, reports have appeared citing the contribution of free radicals and active oxygen species in the etiology of various digestive diseases.

For example, gastric mucosal injuries and the increases in thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances in the gastric mucosa induced by ischemia or ischemia/reperfusion were significantly inhibited by treatment with superoxide dismutase and catalase. It has been suggested that superoxide radical or hydroxyl radical may be the major oxygen radicals contributing to ischemia or ischemia/reperfusion injury in the stomach, small intestine, and liver. There reactive species can attack and damage important biological molecules.

These oxygen-derived free radicals, indiscriminately attack vital molecules, such as proteins, carbohydrates, and fats, which are a part of every single cell in our bodies, both inside and outside the cells, changing their function and impairing the normal course of metabolism in cells. ROS are also capable of damaging DNA. When enough cells get affected this way, disease sets in.

“Formation of oxidized lipids increases rapidly when protective antioxidants are exhausted. Extracellular SOD has been identified as the most likely candidate of the SOD family of enzymes to neutralise ROS formed in the digestive system”~ source

Enter Superoxide Dismutase (SOD)

The discovery of an enzyme superoxide dismutase (SOD) in 1968 led to the realisation that 02 is formed in vivo in living organisms and SOD functions to remove it. Superoxide radical is less reactive than OH*-radical, but can participate in the formation of OH. Superoxide dismutase removes 02 by converting it into hydrogen peroxide (H,O,)and 0 2 . Hydrogen peroxide is not a radical but by itself may be quite toxic to cells, causing DNA damage, membrane disruption and release of calcium ions within the cells, resulting in calcium-dependent proteolytic enzyme to be activated

Mechanism of Action

SAYSOMETHING

After Dinner DETOX™ supplement is our newest weapon in the war against free radicals! This revolutionary complex combines superoxide dismutase (S.O.D.), one of the body’s primary free radical neutralisers, with a synergistic complex of enzymes and supporting antioxidants for cellular protection beyond compare.

The strongest defense system against free radicals is already present in your cells. The only thing you have to facilitate, is the production of antioxidant enzymes in your body. The basic concept behind this approach is ‘Hormesis’. The idea of hormesis is to provoke the intrinsic capability of a body rather than to supply exogenous natural or synthetic antioxidants to try to compensate for age-related decline of physiological activities in the overall maintenance mechanisms of life.

“Making your own antioxidant enzymes is far more effective”

Nrf2 is a powerful protein that is latent within each cell in the body, unable to move or operate until it is released by an Nrf2 activator. … When Nrf2 is activated in the nucleus, it turns on the production of antioxidant enzymes such as Catalase, Glutathione and Superoxide Dismutase (SOD).

After Dinner DETOX™ can increase hormesis by activating the Nrf2 pathway. Many ingredients in ADD will activate Nrf2: Goji Berry, Cinnamon, He Shou Wu, Selenium, Astaxanthin, Kelp, ALA and Blueberry.

Based on their response to general free radical invasion, they can be categorized into first, second, third and even fourth line defense antioxidants. The role and effectiveness of the first line defense antioxidants which basically include superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) is important and indispensable in the entire defense strategy of antioxidants, especially in reference to super oxide anion radical (*O2) which is perpetually generated in normal body metabolism, particularly through the Mitochondria’s  Electron Transport Chain (ETC).

Suggested Use: 1-2 capsules during or after each meal daily, best combined with meals which contain Cysteine, such as high quality protein and accompanied with our MEGAGreens capsules formula and a cup of coffee.

A brazillian study has shown that drinking quality arabica coffee can also increase  the levels of Glutathione (GPx) as much as 56%.

Other sources of Cysteine are  granola and oat flakes. Vegetables like broccoli, red pepper and onion are significant sources of cysteine. Other plant sources include bananas, garlic, soy beans, linseed and wheat germ.
