AdrenalMagic™ can benefit everyone in stressful life situations. Contains synergistically balanced vitamins and minerals, herbs, and micro-nutrients. Supports the (hormonal) endocrine system which is the body’s ability to metabolise hormones.
There is a pervasive myth circulating in alternative health circles that the adrenal glands can become fatigued and become unable to supply the required hormones in time of stress, however, this is not been proven scientifically. Yes, stress induced, sub-optimal adrenal function is a real thing, but it’s not produced by tired adrenals. Instead, it’s a result of a hypothalamic pituitary adrenal (HPA) axis dysfunction. It’s more brain and nervous system than it is glandular.
Dysfunctional HPA axis function is fundamentally caused by Inflammation and oxidative stress (OS) and also commonly what people are calling ‘adrenal fatigue‘.
Adrenal fatigue is actually more of a miscommunication in the brain than it is an adrenal problem. This is why most mainstream medical doctors do not acknowledge that adrenal fatigue exists. But that doesn’t mean your symptoms are just in your head. Your doctor does not believe in adrenal fatigue because in medical literature there no evidence of its existence.
The hypothalamus ‘senses’ inflammation and oxidative stress. In their presence, the hypothalamus sends out ‘signals’ to the body to behave in a way that makes us feel tired, sick, unmotivated, etc… (via orexin, neurotransmitters, and other hormones).
Orexin , also known as hypocretin, is a neuropeptide that regulates arousal, wakefulness, and appetite. The most common form of narcolepsy, in which the sufferer experiences brief losses of muscle tone (cataplexy), is caused by a lack of orexin in the brain due to destruction of the cells that produce it. Orexin-A strongly promotes wakefulness, increases body temperature and locomotion, and elicits a strong increase in energy expenditure.
The active thyroid hormone (T3) is decreased by inflammation and oxidative stress, which independently causes problems of its own. The tiredness you feel is mainly because of your hypothalamus (suppression of orexin) and secondarily because of low T3 and low pregnenolone.
In short, the most common reason we are fatigued is because of inflammation (IL-1, TNF) and mitochondrial dysfunction, both of which lead to the suppression of orexin neurons. This inflammation can be localised in the hypothalamus. Inflammation directly leads to the suppression of orexin.
In some cases, low cortisol can also contribute to tiredness, but cortisol levels are controlled by your hypothalamus. Chronic inflammation generally increases cortisol levels.
Generally, there is no defect or problem with your adrenal glands themselves; They are not ‘fatigued’.
The fatigue true produce hormones that underlie the body’s mechanisms for coping with physical and mental stress. Overtraining in athletics, chronic anxiety, worry, nervous tension and other factors associated with excessive cortisol release are linked to adrenal exhaustion and fatigue. Over-reliance on caffeine and other stimulants also taxes the adrenals.
AdrenalMagic™ combines important nutrients and nutraceuticals that help reduce both oxidative stress and inflammation; Vitamin C, Rhodiola, Resveratrol, Bioflavonoids, Selenium, Zinc, ALA, B Vitamins, CoQ10 and pantothenic acid (B5).
AdrenalMagic™ works best when combined with a larger strategy which would include the following; Adequate Sleep, daily walks in open spaces, Sea salt , Potassium, Vit B1 (Nutritional Yeast), lowered sugar and fruit sugars (which depletes magnesium), massage / accupressure ; in particular the neck muscles, EFT, avoid coffee. Also hardy breakfast containing high fat and protein, avoiding grains and screens before bedtime, drinking Chamomile / Liquorice / Lemon Balm teas.
Most people today suffer from “adrenal exhaustion” stemming from the effects of poor nutrition and stress on the metabolism and immune system!
ARE YOU TIRED TODAY?
When a stressful lifestyle or other types of imbalances overwhelm the body, these glands become unhealthy and ineffective. This is the prime reason why most people are always saying they feel so TIRED! This condition may degenerate into Addison’s disease or total exhaustion and death. Early indications of adrenal gland exhaustion may include insomnia, extreme fatigue, arthritic joints or backs, low blood pressure, poor circulation, chills, dizziness or light headedness, waking up exhausted and with low levels of energy and extreme drowsiness in the afternoon. ‡
Recurrent increases in stress levels, both from psychological and physiological sources, can result in excess cortisol production, leading to a disrupted homeostasis and directly affecting the HPA axis, nervous system, and an array of other body systems. AdrenalMagic helps combat these effects by offering a blend of renowned herbal adaptogens and essential nutrients for complete stress support and adrenal renewal, as well as increased energy and endurance.*
Fatigue & Depression
Recently, a new concept of antidepressant mechanisms of action has been proposed based on the findings that antidepressants showed immediate antioxidant effects in the treatment of major depressive disorder (31). Increasing evidence from animal studies suggests that treatment with antioxidants can reduce oxidative stress and alleviate depressive-like behaviors
In addition to the stress-fighting compounds in key ingredients, such as Magnesium and Maca, AdrenalMagic contains Curcumin, Resveratrol & Liquorice , as high-concentration extracts. These ingredients have been clinically shown to ease short-term stress, promote normal levels of inflammation, promote a healthy outlook, support cognitive health, and increase physical endurance.*
Recognised for centuries by practitioners of Ayurvedic medicine for its potent adaptogenic qualities, ashwagandha promotes physical and mental health, and augments resistance against diverse environmental factors, revitalizing the body and supporting longevity.*
Rhodiola rosea has been studied for its performance-enhancing capabilities, as well as its therapeutic properties.* A variety of studies have shown that Rhodiola rosea supports nervous and cardiovascular health, promotes normal neurotransmitter and hypothalamicpituitary-adrenal axis function, as well as positive mood, optimal energy levels, and even longevity.* It also possesses an impressive safety profile, making it an attractive choice for managing the effects of stressors.* The Rhodiola rosea in AdrenalMagic contains the three active compounds which work synergistically to best promote endurance and increased energy levels, including rosavin (shown to help promote a healthy mood), rosin, and rosarin.
Rehmannia Root is considered to be a longevity tonic that enhances and energizes blood circulation throughout the body, and particularly in the brain, strengthening blood deficiencies and easing symptoms of anemia. This herb is a very effective and popular supplement that will provide your body with support for your brain, heart, nervous, endocrine, and immune systems. Primarily, rehmannia is the number one most important herb in the Chinese system for disorders related to the kidneys and adrenal glands. According to TCM, kidney imbalances can cause weakness in the legs and lower back, and also hearing loss. Because rehmannia is used to restore adrenal function and purify the kidneys, it is considered a helpful tonic for these conditions.
Rhodiola is a natural herb which has been used for centuries in helping to energize the body. However, it has recently been used as a way to combat the effects of adrenal fatigue while providing stress relief to the body itself. Essentially, Rhodiola produces two main effects on the body. It helps reduce the levels of stress and treats symptoms of burnout which is very common with those who have undergone a considerable amount of stress in their lives.
On the other hand, it also acts as a stimulant as well. The dangers of the stimulant are that it counters its calming ingredients which result in the body crashing just like if it took in caffeine or sugar for an energy boost.
People who suffer from adrenal fatigue essentially have no reserve of energy to work from unlike people who do not suffer from this condition. In essence, a person with normal adrenal gland function will get an energy boost from Rhodiola and once it wears off the energy levels will drop to the same or perhaps slightly lower levels than before.
Known to support a healthy stress response and immunity, licorice (or Glycyrrhizin), has been specifically found in studies to lead to dose-dependent decreases in concentrations of cortisol, ACTH, aldosterone and K.* The herb contains a number of active compounds that support immunity and endocrine health. It also promotes the body s resistance to short term fatigue and helps maintain cortisol and DHEA levels within normal range.*
Pantothenic Acid is the active form of vitamin B5, It is essential in helping our body break down (metabolize) proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. Most importantly, Pantothenic Acid is needed for our body to create adrenal steroids.
Ashwagandha, also known as Indian ginseng, is an herb that is known to boost the immune system, stimulate the thyroid, prevent cortisol loss and enhance cognition, among many other characteristics. Benefits of Ashwagandha include supporting healing and maintaining the body’s delicate balance. When under stress, a natural remedy such as an herbal supplement can help alleviate symptoms and restore your body to optimal functioning.
The available scientific data on Ashwagandha shows that the herb is a potent regenerative agent. It has multiple pharmacological actions, which include neuroprotective, analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. Not just useful for treating the physical ailments common in clinical levels of stress, Ashwagandha is also useful for mood disorders and memory loss.
Vitamin C, Vitamin B
Finally, vitamins C and Pantothenic Acid play essential roles in adrenal health by participating in the synthesis and release of adrenal hormones.* Pantothenic acid is essential to the adrenal glands for production of the glucocorticoids through its formation of pantathine, a necessary precursor to coenzyme A and phosphopantethine, critical to numerous acylation reactions in the body (NIH.gov).
